REXBURG—Tree House Talks, an organization started to share ideas, now offers weekly speaking events in Rexburg. Tree House Talks meets every Thursday at 7:45 p.m. in the backyard of 1302 Meadowview Ave. Admission is free.

“Tree House Talks is an event to bring people together to learn and grow in a safe environment,” Rexburg founder Aubrey Christiansen says. “Students, teachers, community members and families come together to connect, learn diverse ideas, and to overall leave more aware”.

Each week, various speakers from the community come and speak about topics that they are passionate about, similar to TED Talks. Tree House Talks offers musical programs in some events, as well.

Tree House Talks usually announces speakers a day before the event.

Anyone is invited to speak or perform in the program through direct messaging Tree House Talk’s Instagram page. The events are shared to their Instagram page for anyone to watch, as well.

Tree House Talks is new to Rexburg, but it has a big following elsewhere. Currently, Tree House Talk events are being held weekly in Logan, Salt Lake City, Provo, and soon Hawaii.

Christiansen hopes that Tree House Talks can be a great outlet for anyone in Rexburg that can hopefully lead to other opportunities.

“I accepted the invitation because I felt like it is perfect for Rexburg. I can see thriving and growing here!” Christiansen says. “I am most excited to see the relationships and friendships formed at THT and to witness an event that will allow others to deepen their understanding of unique and diverse ideas. I think THT can provide individuals with opportunities to develop new passions, ideas, and possibly even future career paths”.
