REXBURG — With warm weather (finally) coming here to Rexburg, outdoor sports season is right around the corner. The city of Rexburg offers a wide range of sport activities and programs for everyone.

Jeff Crowther, Recreation Department director, says “The last few years we have seen a consistent increase in participants in our programs, events and facilities.  I feel that the community is responding well to the services that we provide and we are excited to get everything ready for this upcoming summer so that our citizens can have a fantastic summer!”

Let’s continue increasing community participation in these great opportunities! See which of these programs are a great fit for you or your family:

Kids Sports

T-Ball

This is a great way for kids to learn about baseball and begin practicing their skills in the game. T-Ball is open for 3-6 year olds. Participants need to bring their own baseball gloves, but everything else is provided. Registration ends on May 2nd. You can register here.

Youth Baseball 

1st-6th graders are eligible to join the Youth Baseball league. 1st-2nd grader games will be coach pitch, 3rd-4th and 5th-6th grader games will be kid pitch. Participants bring their own baseball gloves. Cleats (no metal) and gray baseball pants are also suggested. Registration ends on April 24th. You can register here.

Jr. Golf

Any kids from 5-18 years old can join this golf opportunity. Kids will be divided up into different sessions based on age. Golf clubs are included in the lessons, so students do not need to provide their own. Registration ends on May 25th. You can register here.

Kids Swim Club

Important Note: These are NOT swim lessons! This is a club for kids that can already meet specific prerequisites. In this club, kids will practice their swimming skills, and participate in two swim meets. Any kids aged 6-17 that can meet the required swim skills are invited to register. Registration ends May 29th, and you can register here.

Swim Lessons

Swim lessons are available for just about every kid in the area, from 6 months to 18 years old. Rexburg offers a huge variety of swimming classes, so every kid can find the perfect class to match their skill level. From Mommy and Me lessons all the way to Butterfly stroke and diving, these swim lessons are a great way for kids to enjoy the pool this summer. You can register here.

Adult Sports

Pickleball tournament

Compete in Rexburg’s pickleball tournament on June 23rd and 24th. Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed Doubles are available. These spots fill up fast, so sign up now! Unless all spots are already filled, registration will close June 22nd. You can register your team here.

Slow Pitch Softball

Mens, Womens, and Coed divisions of softball are offered towards the end of summer. Team captains can register their teams starting on July 1st. Softballs will be provided, and a bat can be provided if the team does not have one. Only USA softball approved bats are allowed. Registration ends August 15th. You can learn more information here.

Cornhole tournament

This tournament will be held on August 26th. There is a 4-game minimum guarantee with pool play and tournament bracket play. Bring a partner and your best aiming abilities to this fun event. Registration closes August 21st. You can register here.
