REXBURG — The Rexburg Cultural Arts Department is pleased to announce The Rexburg Children’s Choir in concert this weekend with bluegrass band Lincoln Highway.

The concert will be held Friday, May 20 at 7 p.m. at the Rexburg Tabernacle Civic Center, 51 N. Center Street, Rexburg. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 and available at RexburgArts.org.

Rexburg Children’s Choir Director Ben Watson says the concert will feature choir numbers, band numbers, and collaborations between both groups.

“It will be lots of fun,” Watson says. “It’s going to be fun and relaxed. Just a great concert. Totally fun.”

Lincoln Highway is a bluegrass/folk band based in Utah County, Utah. Current band members include Jesse Christopher, Lindsay Davis, Mark Geslison, Geoff Groberg, and Jonathon Wood.

Watson is longtime friends with the world-class band members and thought they’d be great collaborators for this spring’s concert.

“They are some of the most fun and most talented musicians,” Watson says. “These musicians travel all over the world. They’re great.”

With the band, the children’s choir will perform well-known classics such as “Grandma’s Feather Bed,” “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing,” and “Down to the River to Pray.” The children will also perform some of their “legacy songs,” including “From a Distance,” and “Give Me Jesus,” which the choir recently performed with award-winning Christian recording artist Fernando Ortega.

Seating is general admission. To purchase tickets, visit RexburgArts.org.
