REXBURG—Rexburg native Caleb Fullmer and his wife Kelsi live by the motto “go big or go home.”

That willingness to put themselves out there has made them one of Instagram’s power couples.

“We have been making moves since day one,” Fullmer said. “What most people don’t know is that Kelsi and I have been making videos for pretty much forever.”

Caleb Fullmer, his wife Kelsi Fullmer, and their family continue to “make moves” today. Caleb grew up in Rexburg and is currently raising his family here, too. You might have seen Caleb and Kelsi’s family make power moves through their Instagram account, Fullmhouse, a lifestyle account that stands at an impressive 374K followers.

Fullmhouse can be easily summed up by their current Instagram bio, “Have you laughed yet?” The account displays the entertaining and witty antics of a typical suburban family through various posts, activities, competitions, and videos.

They had a little help along the way from their good friends and mentors, Chris and Julia Mecham, formerly of Rexburg, known together as ChrisLovesJulia on Instagram and at their website at chrislovesjulia.com.

“We have some great friends who run a (successful) DIY blog and Instagram account,” Fullmer said. “They mentored us on how to do it… it didn’t really catch steam ‘til a couple of years ago… Kelsi decided to push more content and it has been crazy ever since. It has definitely been a journey. Never in a million years would I expect it to be where it is at now but we are so thankful. It’s been really fun.”

Caleb’s favorite part about the account is helping other families through different circumstances.

“The most fulfilling part of it is when we get messages from various people describing situations that they are going through in their life; marriage, family, etc.” Fullmer said. “They tell me how thankful they are that they are able to come to our account and laugh, learn that they don’t have to take their family so seriously, and learn to have fun. Reaching out to other people’s spheres and giving other people things to do with their family has been really cool.”

Fullmer is making moves in the community, as well. As a day job, he works as a real estate agent for Edge Real Estate. On the side, Fullmer is a partner in the new Fit1 Gym that will be opening up in the old Sears building at 664 N. 2nd East in Rexburg.

“My degree is in Exercise Physiology, and it has been a passion of mine to open a gym,” Fullmer said. “A group of five lifelong friends of mine from Rexburg got together and found a really good opportunity in the north side of Rexburg for a gym, that there really is a need for. We are currently remodeling the old Sears building and it has been fun to see the progress of the building. We are so excited to bring more variety to the site and the northern end of Rexburg.”

The gym will offer group fitness classes, tanning, saunas in each locker room, personal training, and incentives/customer appreciation events.

“Our conservative date to open is December 1st,” Fullmer said. “We will have opportunities for pre-sales… (which will) start in the middle of November. We will roll out a website as soon as possible.”

All in all, Caleb Fullmer has made “moves” that have helped and encouraged thousands of people online and in person. The biggest influencing factor in Fullmer’s endeavor is social media.

“There is a lot of power with marketing in social media,” Fullmer said. “A big part of our strategy with the gym is with social media. All things considered, it has helped me get the name out for everything I do.”

When asked for advice on how to kickstart “power moves” for themselves, Caleb Fullmer simply says to “Go For It!”.

“It all depends on what you’re going for,” he said. “My biggest advice is that you will need to set yourself apart and be consistent on (the content) you are putting out. Many try to make their way on social media for maybe a couple of months, then die out and lose steam because they aren’t gaining popularity quickly. What most people don’t know is that in order to gain traction in any business, it will take years of persistence for it to happen. Stay the course, keep your head down, and make it important enough to you that you will stick with it till it does work. If you keep working persistently and productively, it will take off. It always will.”
