REXBURG — PAC Jiu-Jitsu invites the Rexburg community to witness The Anaconda Invitational at the Romance Theater on December 3, 2022 at 4 p.m. Isaac Payne, owner of PAC Jiu-Jitsu guarantees, “The Anaconda Invitational will be a fast-paced, family-friendly, entertaining event!”

Jiu-Jitsu originates from Brazil and is a self defense sport that centers on grappling and ground fighting. Grappling in Jiu-Jitsu is when two martial artists stand in close range with one another and try to seize their opponent using a variety of moves such as joint lock or choke hold. The first to “tap out” loses.

When asked why he was compelled to host this event, Payne said, “In the past, martial arts competitions haven’t had the highest production quality. I want to elevate our sport, introduce it to the general population, and make it entertaining to watch… (The venue) is part of the production. I wanted a venue that creates an environment which supports the quality level.”

Eight of the best martial artists from around the region, including a few of Payne’s own students, have been selected to compete against each other for a chance to win $500. The prize money goes to the competitor who can force his opponents to submit first.

Spectators pay $10 at the door and can expect to see something amazing at this martial arts tournament.
