REXBURG — Summer Reading is back at the Madison Library this summer. The theme this year is “All Together Now” and “it’s all about kindness, friendship and unity.” The program structure is the same as in past years, but for anyone new to the area, here’s the program summary:

Participants can sign up at the library beginning on June 5th. Everyone in the community is welcome and encouraged to participate. Even babies aged 0 can join the Bouncing Babies group and look at picture books to count towards their log list. You have the option to do a traditional paper log, or you can do it online through Beanstack by clicking here. No reading before June 5th will count towards the summer reading event. Prizes will be available starting June 20th and ending on July 29th.

Besides reading, there are events for summer reading as well. Though it’s a month away, you’ll want to mark your calendars for the upcoming block party. Michelle Owens, Adult Fiction Librarian, says “There will be a summer reading ‘All Together Now,’ block party starting July 8th from 5-8 p.m. There will be games, food, dancers, and other activities for the whole community. Afterwards there will be an outdoor movie starting at 9:00 pm. More information will be coming soon.”

Along with the summer reading program events, there are also the usual book groups and activities at the library this month. Everyone from babies to seniors has at least one event they can attend.
