REXBURG – The Robinson Family Light Show has become a cherished tradition in Rexburg, bringing joy and festive cheer to the Rexburg community each Christmas season. This dazzling display of Christmas lights is not just a visual treat for people to enjoy, but also a testament to the Robinson family’s dedication to spreading happiness and creating community spirit.

The Robinson Family Light Show started in the midst of COVID, when the Robinsons felt a strong need to create something special for their community. With so many events canceled, they wanted to offer a safe and joyful experience that could become a new Christmas tradition for families all around. After researching how light shows worked, as well as investing in necessary equipment, the Robinsons launched the first light show at their house, where it stayed for three more years.

The Robinsons want the community to know that the Light Show is purely a gift from their own family. They don’t promote any businesses, neither do they expect anything in return. And while they put up thank you signs for the businesses that have helped contribute to the event (a newer addition made in 2024), the Light Show is strictly about bringing families together.

The Robinsons aim to help create Christmas memories as they gather the community together in Christmas cheer. It’s their own way of contributing to the Light the World campaign.

Founder Rick Robinson’s favorite part? The impact and creative process.

“My favorite part is the creative process—bringing emotions and magic to life through lights and music. I love seeing the wonder on kids’ faces and hearing the audience’s reaction.”

The Robinson Family Light Show is free for everyone, and takes place at Porter Park in Rexburg on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 6 to 9 p.m. It will continue running from the kickoff, Saturday, November 30 at 6 p.m. through New Year’s Day. So, mark your calendars and get ready to make memories with your family and friends during the Robinson Family Light Show! It’s an event that promises to light up your holiday season, warm hearts with the spirit of family and community, and bring people together in cheer and joy!
