Can you believe Christmas is just around the corner? What better way to get into the spirit than perusing a Christmas Market?!

Friends Brittany Ericksen, Katherine Allen, and Emmie Moses will be hosting a  “Rexburg’s Favorite Things” Christmas Market this coming Saturday. Together they make the perfect trifecta for the event.

I had the chance to speak with Brittany Ericksen about what to expect from this special occasion.

“We decided to host a Christmas Market because we wanted to create something the whole community could participate in!”

When: Saturday Nov. 19 from 10AM-3PM

Where: Madison Junior High

There will be at least 100 vendors at this event.  Over 80% of them are handcrafted products so the fair will be full of talents across the board.

For example:

Knitted blankets and stockings

Homemade aromatherapy playdough

Christmas gnomes and other decorations

Wooden toys

Thrifted clothing

Graphic T-shirts

You are sure to find something on your Christmas list for everyone!

Baked goods, cotton candy, pulled pork sandwiches, and Gluten free cinnamon rolls are a few of the tasty treats and snacks that will be available at the event.

Not only will there be many awe worthy vendors and delicious food, but Santa and Anna from frozen will make a guest appearance as well!

Visits from Santa are from 11-1 and visits from Anna are from 1:30-2:30. Other kid friendly activities such as graham cracker house making and scavenger hunts are on the agenda as well!

While at the Christmas Market there will also be a community service project for people to participate in for fostered teens in the Southeastern Idaho area.

The big goal this year is to leave no fostered teen in SouthEastern Idaho behind. Brittany shared with me that many fostered teens don’t have a Christmas. Often times people are consumed with getting gifts for the kids and the teens get forgotten… Not this year!

Donations are still needed for stockings for these teens. A list of age appropriate items for stockings will be at the end of this article. There will be a Giving Tree where cash donations for gift cards will be accepted and a gift wrapping station for small gifts brought in or bought at the Christmas Market! They will go directly to the donation drive.

This event is chock full of fun! Come support these small businesses and get into the spirit of community and Christmas!
