REXBURG — Madison Library has several great activities and events coming up this month.

There is a vote in May for the library district board of trustees. According to Idaho.gov, “A governing board of trustees sets library policy; sets and oversees the library’s budget; hires, supervises, evaluates, and works as a team with the library’s director; and makes sure that its community is well represented and informed regarding their local library and public libraries in general.” If you want to make your voice heard, come and vote! You can either do early voting from May 1-12 at the County Clerks office, or you can vote in person on May 16. Find your polling location here.

The Book Bingo theme for this month is the DC Universe. Whether you prefer physical copies or listening to ebooks, you can participate in this challenge. Download a bingo card from their website here or grab one at the circulation desk.

Teen Action Council members have a meeting on May 3rd at 4pm. Members can be any age between 12-18. Contact the library for more information about the teen council.

Mother Daughter and Books for Boys Book Clubs are combined in May. Come on May 4th at 6:30pm to discuss The Strange Case of Origami Yoda. Children 8-11 with an accompanying adult are invited to come and enjoy Star Wars Day with other readers.

Take a Break Book Club is reading Brown Girl Dreaming this month. Some book copies may be available at the circulation desk upon request. The book club will meet on May 25 at 6:30pm to discuss the reading.

You may notice that some of the usual activities like Toddler Time or Kids STEAM activities are missing this month. That is because the library is gearing up for their upcoming summer reading program. Madison library always delivers excellent summer reading programs, so this is something you don’t want to miss! Sign ups begin June 5th for anyone from babies to adults. Stay tuned for more specifics of the summer reading at the end of May.
