REXBURG — It’s a warm summer evening in Rexburg, oranges and pink fill the sky as the sun begins to set behind the mountains. To capture this beautiful moment, Daniel Hansen takes his drone for a flight. Through the lens of the camera, he explores the many treasures of the city he loves, hoping to share it with others.

Founded in 2023 in the heart of Rexburg, Idaho, DTM Films’ main goal is to grow creativity in the city, making it a fun and exciting place to live. Founder Daniel Hansen stated, “My goal is to try and do all these random, creative mixes that people would never, ever think of. Let’s just make Rexburg fun!”

Inspired by other YouTube videographers FullTimeFilmmaker and DevinSuperTramp, Hansen looks forward to partnering with local businesses to create more exciting opportunities and experiences for Rexburg residents. He recognizes that many college students fill the streets of this town and he wants to help each and every single one of them have a wonderful time while living in Rexburg.

While the business is small, it sure is taking off at a fast pace. Hansen, a native Rexburg resident, longs to expand his company into the surrounding states. He has taken DTM Films as far as Mapleton, Utah, where he partnered with Mapleton City and Mapleton Parks and Recreation to film their annual Pioneer Days celebration in 2024. This celebration included three days of exciting events, gorgeous fireworks, and 15,000 Utah residents.

When asked how far Hansen would go for his clients, he said, “Mars! Elon, put me on a shuttle!” His passion and dedication for his clients and his community is constant. DTM’s projects span a variety of genres, including real estate, weddings, construction, and community events.

Hansen, ever enthusiastic about his work, wants to be able to take DTM Films and turn it into an educational opportunity for others. Throughout the years, he has invested time in understanding the dynamics of the film industry and building relationships with major influences in the community. He longs to share this knowledge with college and high school students who want to pursue this line of work. He is looking for interns who want to “get training, get experience, and get portfolio work.”

DTM Films bursts full of creativity and wonder. In 2024, he hosted and filmed a large water balloon fight in Porter Park and is planning even bigger events for the future. Hansen stated eagerly, “If you want to stand out, you’ve got to do what other people don’t want to do.”
