REXBURG — The Brigham Young University-Idaho Department of Theatre and Dance is excited to present its production of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Amelia Bahr.

The show is opened to students and the public. Shows will be performed October 20–22, 25–28, and October 29. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. except for the October 29 performance, which starts at 2:00 p.m.

William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing is a frequently-performed comedy about two vastly different romantic love stories. The audience will ponder whether love deserves a second chance in this version of the play set in the spring of 1919.

After the end of The Great War, Leonato and his family joyfully welcomed the weary and wounded heroes home. A particularly warm welcome has been reserved for the gallant Claudio by the lovely Hero, Leonato’s only daughter. A particularly prickly welcome was given to the misogynistic Benedick by Beatrice, the woman he once wooed and then betrayed. The deceitful Don Jon, currently in his optimistic brother’s good graces, looks for any (and every) way possible to cause trouble.

Tickets are on sale now at byui.edu/ticket-office and in the University Store. Students can purchase tickets for $3, and the public can buy tickets for $6.
