About Guy Richey Gibbons
From pop to 70s soft rock, fragrances of funk, and heart-infused soul, Guy’s just trying to make enjoyable music for people of all ages. A singer and songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer (heck, he even makes his own music videos), Guy brings the sauce in an infectious way. It’s as if the late 1970s/early 80s got together and made music with modern artists like Harry Styles, Ben Rector, and Bruno Mars to create Guy Richey Gibbons. If music be the food of love, then Guy is the chef de cuisine and we love what he’s cooking. His sophomore full-length album “Start Again” comes out this summer.

“My name is Nefi Varela Chavez, I was born and raised in the State of Mexico Mexico, and I am 21 years old. I have always believed that music has been an excellent way to transmit my emotions, feelings, and identity as Mexican.

“Since I was 14 years old I have participated in regional folk dance and music groups in Mexico and now in the US. I love mariachi music because it connects me with my culture and makes me feel alive.

“I have shared my music in more than seven different states in Mexico, including the State of Mexico, Mexico City, Aguascalientes, Coahuila, Durango, and Zacatecas, and participated on three occasions singing at BYUI Cultural Night.”
