REXBURG—“No excuses.”

It’s the motto Rexburg brothers Titan and Easton Sweeten live by in their personal lives and now in their business ventures.

The Sweetens are the sons of Evan and Candi Sweeten and were born and raised here in Rexburg. They’ve recently opened NEX Nutrition in the half of BarberPop Shop that was formerly a soda fountain. It’s located at 175 W. 2nd South, Suite 103, in Rexburg’s Hemming Village.

“NEX” stands for “no excuses,” and it seemed like a fitting name for the brothers who believe in embracing personal responsibility for their health and fitness, and who have also jumped at opportunities to grow their new business.

Nex Nutrition opened in August on 4th South in Rexburg, in the same building as Gem State Staffing. A few months later, they were given the opportunity to move into half of the barber shop when that business decided to stop serving sodas, leaving a very nice space open in the bustling commercial center. It was an opportunity they couldn’t pass up.

The nutrition store offers sports nutrition products, pre- and post-workout products, protein powders, vitamins and minerals, greens for gut health, creatine and a variety of other health-related products and apparel.

They have created their own brand under the Nex Nutrition name, and they also carry a variety of other brands. They are the only retail location in Rexburg that offers the popular Clean Simple Eats brand of protein powders.

Titan says he became interested in starting a nutrition business when he and Easton started going to the gym together and really focusing on their own health.

“I fell in love with it there,” Titan says.

As they sampled other companies’ nutrition products, the brothers found things they did and didn’t like, which eventually led them to creating their own products. They launched Nex Nutrition online a couple years ago, and opened their first storefront in 2021.

The Sweetens love any opportunity to share what they have learned about nutrition and never want a customer to feel like they’re being pushed to purchase anything.

“We like to educate and motivate,” Titan says. “If it’s not a good fit, we’re not going to push a product just to sell them. We try to be honest in the stuff that people want. We want them to want it … We want people to come in and feel comfortable with questions and concerns and help educate people more so they can make informed decisions.”

Nex Nutrition is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. They can be found at their website at www.nexrexburg.com, on Instagram @nexnutrition and on Facebook
