REXBURG—Kidsburg will resume operations this year, after closing in the spring of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kidsburg: Rexburg’s Kids’ Discovery Center, is located at 275 Stationery Rd., Rexburg.

Admission will be free for opening day, Saturday, Oct. 30 from 1-4 p.m., and discounted punch passes and season tickets will be for sale. There will be no trick-or-treating this year, but the kids area will be open and volleyball nets will be set up in the gym area.

In past years, Kidsburg has hosted an event on opening day for businesses to pass out candy to trick-or-treaters, but due to health concerns, city staff have decided against holding the trick-or-treating event this year.

After opening day, regular admission to Kidsburg is $4 per child. Children under 12 months are free. Adults are free with child admission. Season tickets and punch passes are also available.

Kidsburg will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Mondays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Kidsburg’s website states, “The Rexburg Kid’s Discovery Center is a hands-on children’s center with a mission to enhance the lives of children and enrich the communities it serves. Since opening in October of 2018 in Rexburg, Idaho, Kidsburg has become a special place where children can explore, create, discover and learn through play. Kidsburg features over 5,000 square feet of indoor exhibits, careers, buildings, and other learning experiences.

Programs, field trips, birthday parties, and other special events can also be scheduled by contacting Kidsburg at 208-656-8880.

“Kidsburg was created as a way to help improve a healthy lifestyle and active play for kids,” Rexburg’s Recreation Director Jeff Crowther said. Kidsburg accomplishes this by offering creative learning opportunities for adolescents.

Many local families are excited about the return of Kidsburg, including the Miller Family of Rexburg.

“(My favorite part about Kidsburg is) the little store!” 5-year-old Ada Miller said. “I love the bouncy animals and I love the cars!”

“(My favorite part about Kidsburg is) probably the giant soccer ball and the soccer field” 8-year-old Sammy Miller said.
