About Us
David and Emily Miller
Our story started right here in Rexburg, 20 years ago. Emily was a student at Ricks College and a reporter for KRIC-FM, and David was a new student, recently returned from his LDS mission in Frankfurt, Germany. We were married in 2001 and lived in Rexburg and Rigby. Emily worked as a reporter for the Rexburg Standard Journal while David finished school.
After David’s graduation, we moved to Kansas where David worked for Payless ShoeSource at their corporate headquarters, and Emily worked as a reporter for The World Company/Eudora News.
A surprise opportunity brought us to the Ogden, Utah area, where David worked as a database administrator for America First Credit Union for 11 years. Emily continued to take writing jobs here and there, but mostly devoted her time to raising babies (her favorite occupation).
We’ve always had a fondness for Rexburg and the people of Southeast Idaho. David hoped to work for BYU-Idaho someday, but expected that if that ever happened, he would be a behind-the-scenes I.T. guy. When a teaching job opened up in the BYU-Idaho CIT Department that he was qualified for, and he got it, it seemed too good to be true. All of us were sad to leave the people we loved in Utah, but thrilled to start a new chapter, back in what felt like our hometown.
We love this community and hope Rexburg Commons will be a place for everyone.
