REXBURG – In downtown Rexburg at 19 E. Main Street resides the cutest bookshop, Brave Seeker Books. From the decorative air balloon symbolizing an opportunity to start an adventure in the books that line the shelves, to the colors and toys that make the store come alive for all ages, there is no better place to stop by to pick up a new story.
Cortney Teeples, the owner and proud book fanatic, is enthusiastic about supporting her community as she seeks out the best books to share. She has noticed a lack of book shops in town and decided to change that by creating a space to enjoy stories and connect with the world of literature with constant new books being brought to the store.
Brave Seeker Books is highly supportive of local businesses. The book store has a variety of things to offer while partnering with a number of small businesses. Woven baskets, crocheted creations, and stickers. Many a cute thing is offered alongside the stories lining the shelves. It adds a homey feel to the atmosphere of the shop that encourages you to sit down and settle into a story.
Teeples has plans to start a couple book clubs focusing on different genres. She hopes that it will bring people with similar interests together to talk and giggle over books that bring joy and thought-provoking conversations. She is currently looking into involving the other shops in the downtown area for meeting places that assist in the immersion of each book being read and for future collaborations in future projects Brave Seeker Books hopes to conduct. In the meantime, she runs a reading time for children on Thursdays at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Brave Seeker Books has invited many authors to give literary seminars and talk about their books every month. There are authors coming to the store in May and June. It’s a special event that allows local writers to share their book with the community. It’s also an opportunity for amateur writers to come interact with experienced writers in the professional field and network with other writers. It’s also a fun event to learn about new books and allow kids to take a peek into the production process of where their books come from.
The neighbors are good company! Brave Seeker Books resides inside Mrs. Powell’s Bakery. They serve excellent hand crafted cinnamon rolls. The smell of warm desserts give the bookshop a cozy and happy feeling. Just the right sweet treat to go with your reading session on a lazy afternoon day.
Teeples invites everyone to come swing by and take a look! The books are switched out every week to provide new options and a fresh layout for the enjoyment of all readers. Come share the latest adventure you were on and find the next one.
